Compare Lahore with other cities, and the difference will be obvious: Saad Rafique

Senior PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that citizens of Lahore need only visit cities like Peshawar and Karachi to see the stark difference in urban development.

Speaking to the media in Lahore, Rafique highlighted that the 18th Constitutional Amendment has granted provinces full authority and resources, leaving little room for complaints about a lack of rights or powers.

He criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which is now serving its third consecutive term. “If one billion trees had actually been planted, the province wouldn’t have suffered such environmental destruction,” he remarked.

Taking a jab at PTI’s past promises, he said, “They claimed they’d build 350 dams. I’d be convinced if someone could even name three and a half of them.”

Rafique also recalled that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had tried to initiate the Kalabagh Dam project during his tenure, but it was derailed due to political opposition.
